Rae: If we were meeting at a coffee shop I’d be drinking a spiced latte with Coconut Milk. What would you order?

Sara: I’d order an Iced Latte with Hazelnut and Soy milk. ((Not because I’m lactose intolerant but because it takes delicious)).

Rae: For those who have not read your backlist or current release, can you tell us a little bit your books?

Sara: I really love quick witted, natural humor and banter between my characters. All my books have it—I love focusing on dialogue and build my books around that…

Rae: Where do you find your inspiration?

Sara: Chemistry is my inspiration. Between the characters and my own relationships.

Rae: How do you keep all of your characters from crossing over into other books? Do you use a series “bible” or have files of notes?

Sara: I don’t, LOL. I interweave them when I can, sometimes because I forget the names I’ve used in previous books. It’s not always on purpose.

Learning Hours 195x300 195x300 Coffee With USA Today Bestselling Author Sara NeyRae: The release of How to Date A Douchebag: The Learning Hours was kept tight under wraps regarding the hero and heroine. I read an ARC and loved it. I enjoyed reading about a group of college kids finding their way and the insanity that unfolded. What sparked the concept for this series?

The series was built around the series title HOW TO DATE A DOUCHEBAG and developed from there… I loved how it sounded and liked how it looked, and love guys who talk s#$t and pairing them with girls who can give it right back.

Rae: How many more books will there be?

Sara: Right now I’ve written a 4th novel and plan to keep it at 4….

Rae: When you are writing a book, do you plot it out page by page, chapter by chapter? Or, do your characters guide you?

Sara: I have a rough outline of the story and how I want it to look, but for the most part, I fly by the seat of my pants…

Rae: What was the defining moment that you realized you wanted to write?

Sara: I’ve always dabbled in it; journaled. I have tons of notebooks from when I was younger, the stories crack me up. So I guess in a way I always have been a writer, I just never knew I’d want to turn it into a career.

Tasty Tidbits 300x169 Coffee With USA Today Bestselling Author Sara Ney

1. What is a must read book and why? The book that I’m always recommending people read, that I absolutely love, is Stupid Girl by Cindy Miles. To me, it’s the quintessential “opposites attract” story; the male hero is flawed to perfection. The inner dialogue is spot on… There are a few scenes in the book that I know are coming, and I wait for them, heart pounding.

2. What is one place that I should see if I visit your hometown? We have a small ski hill in town that’s lit up at night. And in the winter, you can see the lights glowing for miles around.

3. Do you take-in or cook? If so, what is your “go-to” dish? My husband is the cook in our house, and if he didn’t feed us, we would all starve. For real.

4. What is one thing readers would be surprised to know about you? I have really random collections that make no sense. History fascinates me; I lay in bed at night and take photo tours of abandoned landmarks and homes from the Gilded Age. I’m obsessed.

5. Hard Rock or Classical? Favorite Band or Artist? I love Spotify; I always hit the “Discover” button, and my favorites are undiscovered artists that re-create covers by popular singers.

6. If you had an all expenses paid trip anywhere in the world for research, where would you go? I have no idea. I’d probably want to rent an old English estate, ala: Pride & Prejudice, and stay in the middle of no-where.

7. What is your guilty pleasure? Binging on Netflix.

8. What are you afraid of? I’m afraid if I every had to tell someone off, I’ll free up and not be able to. Is that a weird thing to be afraid of? I talk a good game, but I worry deep down inside, I’m a huge wimp.

9. Tats or No Tats? If tats, how many and what did you choose for your first one? None, I’m so boring and afraid of needles. But I love when people have them; I love them all and find them very attractive, especially on men, LOL. Can I say that?

10. Organized or Free Floating? I have what I refer to as “organized chaos.” My husband keeps me organized… I’d be better at staying on task if the voices inside my head would leave me alone.

11. Binge watcher or weekly viewer? Which show(s)? Binge watcher! Because I usually forget to watch whatever it is I love watching: Schitt’s Creek, Shameless, 90 Day Fiance. Leah Remini.

12. What’s on your playlist? Kiss You Now, by Andy Grammer. Hailee Steinfeld. The Pitch Perfect Soundtrack. Alex G. Kelsea Ballerini…. Its an eclectic mix

13. What play or musical do you want to see next? I’m taking my daughter to see Les Miserables in Spring!

14. Are you a crafter? You wouldn’t even believe the amount of crafting supplies I have in this house…I don’t why, but there is glitter on my front walkway.

15. What’s your favorite TV show and why? I don’t watch a ton of tv, but if I happen to catch something I love, its reality. Below Deck. Other than that… I’m terrible. Friends, The Office. Comedies, mostly

16. If you could pick a book you’ve read and make it into a movie, which book would it be (besides yours)? I’m going with Stupid Girl. I would give anything to see that turned into a movie.

17. What’s your favorite movie of all time and why? When Pride & Prejudice is on (the Kiera Knightly version) I drop everything and go wild for it. I’ve also seen Anne of Green Gables 8,000 times. How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.

18. Would you rather see a movie in the theater or at home on DVD and why? At home, because there just aren’t enough offerings at the movie for me to eat. We like to sneak food in, and sometimes it’s impossible to walk in with containers of steaming hot Noodles, or a salad.

19. What is the one thing you can’t live without? My flat pillow (I mean, besides my family), my black, Papermate Flare Pens.

20. If you could invite 5 people to dinner (not friends and family – that’s too easy) who would be at your table? Where would you eat?
This is a tough one, and I had to give this some serious thought. Couldn’t come up with anyone but family/friends so: I would collect a small dinner party cast of complete strangers, from the various cities I’ve visited. For example, I bet the guy driving the horse drawn carriage in Central Park has some amazing stories to tell. We’d eat somewhere Italian, and loud, at a big round table eating pasta and drinking wine. Then I imagine we’d part ways and always look back on that unusual dinner that only happens once in a lifetime.

21. If you could try any career for a day, what would it be? First I was going to say “Starbucks,” because I bet I could whip up an amazing Coco. Then I was going to say, “Any career where I could talk through a microphone.” My mind kept going to retail, but I’ve already done that (I used to own a children’s boutique). So I’m not sure. Why is this question so hard?

He rounded the end of the isle just as the woman in question stepped through a door labeled Eclectic Staff Only, her head was down and she worried her berry-colored lower lip with her teeth. He’d never get used to it, the sight of her was a swift punch to the gut. He remembered how those lips felt, how they tasted…
“I’m sorry we’re closed.” She stopped dead in her tracks, her eyes going wide. “Jamie.” Her tone was breathless with surprise.
He’d never tire of hearing the Irish lilt in her voice when she called him by the nickname. He looked around with a nod. “I found myself outside and had to come take a look. You have something special here.”
“Yeah, I do.” She hesitated, studying him closely. “I worked hard for it, too.”
“Larkin told me you put yourself through school until you got your masters in business. That couldn’t have been easy.”
Pressing her lips together, she pulled in a breath, her nose flaring in the way he’d always loved. She jabbed her thumb over her shoulder and said, “Look, I have to get back to work. My stock doesn’t unload itself.” She nodded toward the front of the store. “You can let yourself out.”
He had two choices. The smart choice would be to do as she said and leave, but when it came to Blayne, his intelligence was in serious question and usually found just above his balls. Following her through the small hallway flanked with a small office on one side and a break room on the other, he couldn’t keep his eyes off the way her ass moved beneath her pencil skirt.
Her style drove him wild, and her current attire was no exception. He perused the line of her legs down to her high heels. “How the hell are you unloading boxes with six-inch heels holding you up?”
She spun around with a startled look on her face. “I said let yourself out, not in. What are you doing?”
“I’m helping.” He looked around at the stacked boxes and table full of merchandise. “I’ll unload and unpack, you inventory.”
“I don’t need your help, Jamie.”
“No, you don’t. But you’re going to get it.” He stepped beside her, noting how she stiffened with his nearness. He stiffened too, but in a completely different way. And to the point that he shifted from one foot to the other hoping his unwieldy body part would settle in a more comfortable position.
He pulled a delivery off a stack, then carried it to the table. Grabbing a box cutter, he flicked up the blade with a swipe of his thumb against the small textured lever. “Look, Blayne. I’m here. You might as well make use of me.” He heard it as soon as he said it.
And realized he meant it.
She ran her eyes from the tips of his shoes to his crotch–Please God, he cleared his throat–then on up to his chest, and finally his face. “What’s the American saying? Been there, done that?”
His bark of laughter echoed off the walls, and her painted lips quirked up at the corners.
With a sigh, she threw her hands up. “Fine. Unpack each box, carefully handing me one item at a time. This job is about accuracy and care, not speed. Got it?” One perfectly arched dark brow raised with her question.
Something settled in his chest. It meant something for her to give in, to let him stay. “Got it, boss.”
She scoffed. “Take that back to the conservation center and I’ll let you help me here any day.”
He sliced through the tape of one box. “In your dreams. We’re partners at the center, but I will give in to your demands here.”
“Give in to my demands?” Her question sounded anything but innocent. “All of them?”
“Yes.”
“Anything?” Her eyes dilated.
F#*k. Me.
“Completely.” His heart beat hard in his chest as she stepped closer. The heat of her made him want to reach out and pull her in until her breasts flattened against his chest. It was as though his breathing stopped with his heart as she leaned toward him.
So close, her silky hair, her porcelain skin. Those damn lips that left his d*^k begging and his mouth speechless.
Then just as quickly, she stepped back, her fingers gripping a silver paperweight in the shape of an inchworm. She slapped it into the palm of her other hand, and he winced. “Perfect.”
He narrowed his eyes at the victorious gleam in her own.
Two could play that game.
With a clap of his hands, he scanned the stacked boxes, taking a small measure of satisfaction when she jumped at the noise. “Well, Blayne MacCaffrey, let’s get to work.”
Shrugging off his jacket, he kept his gaze on the table, purposefully avoiding her eyes. He grabbed the hem of his black, knit sweater and pulled it up and over his head.
“What are you doing?” A hint of panic raised the pitch of her voice.
With the self-control of a monk, he resisted the smile that pulled at the corners of his mouth, and grabbed the first box. “Getting to work. I imagine you don’t want to be here all day, and I don’t want to get my shirt sweaty before having a chance to meet with Mayor Marth.” He shook his head. “It’s so weird to think of quiet, timid Sebastian as the Mayor.”
She waved her hand with a dismissive flick of her wrist. “First, get your shirt on and second, I’ve seen Sebastian Marth…there is nothing timid about that man.”
Her light green eyes stared off into space for a brief second, causing a swift, unreasonable, knot of jealousy to twist in his gut.
“The last time I saw him, he had two, fifty pound salt bags hoisted on each shoulder.” She followed up with a low whistle.
And the knot twisted tighter. It shouldn’t. He didn’t have the right to feel one way or another. He lost any claim to her the night he walked away. His head knew it, but damned if his heart did. He grabbed another box and moved it over to the table, followed by two more.
She picked up a large serving bowl made of glass and silver, studying it from every angle, seemingly unaware of the change in atmosphere. “Yep…not timid at all.” Placing the bowl to the side, she reached up on tip-toe to rearrange items on the top shelf labeled serving wear. “Like…at all.”
That’s it.
If anyone asked, he’d say the devil made him do it. And he’d do it again, too.
Without a sound, he stepped behind her, so close his chest brushed her back.
She sucked in a breath, but couldn’t move because she had two porcelain dishes perched on the edge of the shelf.
“Careful now. I’m just trying to help.” His voice was even but his blood raced through his veins at her nearness. Her scent wafted around his head, her heat warmed his skin, and the silky slide of her hair tickled his biceps as he reached around her to assist with the bowls.
“Jamie.” She stiffened. And he’d have sworn on his position at the conservation center she quit breathing.
“You’re about to lose two bowls that were balanced against the ones in your hands. Take it easy and let me help you.”
“I don’t need your help.” She shoved back slightly with her ass to force him to move but all she accomplished was pushing those round globes tight against his d*^k. And his vision went white.
Now he was the one who couldn’t breathe. God damn she felt so good.
As quickly as she pushed back, she pulled forward.
His hands wanted to grab her hips and pull her back so he could grind against her softness, and his heart wanted to pull her back to a time when she loved him. He blinked and swallowed hard, then adjusting the bowls by her hands, helped slide the other two back to safe ground.
As if his body hadn’t been on the verge of exploding, he stepped away and returned to his table.
Blayne didn’t move away from the shelf for a full minute. He’d counted, thankful for the time to get his body in check and his mind straight. Those kind of games were dangerous, but f*^k him if it didn’t feel good to play.
Finally, she quietly cleared her throat and reached for her clipboard, busying herself with her list of incoming stock.
He opened another box, slipped the box cutter blade safely beneath the protective edge, then set it on the table.
With a quick, easy grace, she grabbed the box cutter and unsheathed the blade.
“What the hell?” He looked from the blade to her eyes which glittered in a telling ominous manner.
He let out a soft chuckle. “Blayne, don’t be ridiculous.”
She raised the blade a little higher in its sheath.
“I was only trying to help.”
“Bulls&*t. You were trying to manipulate me. You were trying to muddy my head with your filled out muscles and smooth skin.”
His d^*k jumped.
“Come on. I was doing nothing of the sort.”
The hell he wasn’t.
And she knew it.
He raised his hands in front of him. “Seriously.”
“Get out.”
“Blayne, come on.”
She grabbed his shirt and threw it at his face. “Get. Out.”
There were times to advance, and there were times to retreat.
And there were times to run like hell from a mad woman with a blade.

%name The Extra ShotAuthor Info: MK Meredith writes single title contemporary romance novels which promise an emotional ride on heated sheets. A member of several writing groups, she believes the best route to success is to never stop learning.

She’s had a lifelong love affair with peanut butter — the only two things coming close in the battle for her affections are gorgeous heels, and maybe Gerard Butler…or was it David Gandy? Who is she kidding? Her true loves are her husband and two children who have survived her SEA’s (spontaneous explosions of affection) and live to tell the tale.

MK’s been reading romance long before she should have and can’t think of anything better than to fill her life with the promise of happily-ever-afters. When people ask, “Why romance?” She replies, “There is nothing more exhilarating than to write about one of the most powerful entities on earth. Love can be the fall of kingdoms and move mountains, destroy lives and create new life, inspire the dark and summon the light. Love is a challenge, a hope, and a miracle all wrapped into one. Love is life. I write about life.”

The Meredith’s live in the D.C. area with their two large fur babies…until the next adventure calls.

The Whole Latte
If you love the Misadventure Series then hold on to your hats readers, Misadventures of a College Girl will take us on a journey to discover how far we need to go to fulfill our deepest desires, find out how far we’re willing to go to achieve them, and what happens when we open up our hearts to the one person you never expected to rock your world.

Zooey Cartwright is creative, ambitious, and wants more than anything to cross the biggest item off her “to do” list. There is just one problem, she needs to find the right guy, can she maintain control over losing the one thing that she covets the most? One night will deliver a game of cloak and dagger with the rules changing and the players jockeying for the best position

.

Tyler Caldwell is an athlete with an unusual choice of wardrobe, a unique approach to dating and a plan for life after he graduates. Up until now, he’s never had a reason to look at his life any other way, until he sets his sights on Zooey and her plan. Will he agree to help her, or find a way to alter her game-plan? While Tyler is quick to professes he’s not interested in any long-term relationships, he’ll soon discover that real love is unexpected and something you can’t plan. If he can let his heart guide his next move off the field, he might discover that he’s the one who has a lot to learn about love and how the game is played.

First impressions aren’t always what they appear to be, and the old saying “don’t judge a book by it’s cover” plays a huge role here. Lauren Rowe has made College one grand adventure as the semester is about to heat up with a whole new set of rules, classes that will educate and empower, and theories that will test those who dare to take the challenge. Zooey and Tyler are about to re-write their own playbook and it’s absolutely fantabulous.
Lauren has crafted a story that will cause uncontrollable laughter with the clever and witty banter. The chemistry is so insanely intense that don’t be surprised if your fingers develop burns from swiping your screen. I’m already wondering how long until we have another misadventure from this must read author. Are you ready, it’s moving day and it’s time to head to school.
I received this ARC from Bare Naked Words for a fair and honest review.

A few facts to consider 300x251 Kindle Unlimited its a Latte Books

Personal Library: Over 1 million books are available with just one click! Check out the catalog here. It’s worth a mention that some publishers are not included in this database: Hachette, MacMillan, Simon & Schuster, HarperCollins, and Penguin. In addition, those books that are at the top of the New York Times list won’t be here either. Hopefully that will change, but for now, we’ll all just have to purchase them if we want to read them. So, keep in mind you’ll have an additional book expense if you choose to read book from the publishing houses that don’t participate.

Pocket Change: For just $9.99 a month you can have your own personal library at your fingertips. Click-now to start a 30-day trial and see if it works for you. Something to keep in mind is that if you’re purchasing more than 2-3 books a month than this might be worth trying out.

Is it just books? Nope, you get access to books, audio books AND magazines in a special catalog just for you. From what I have uncovered the following magazines are included but as always, there is a chance that some are no longer available so please let me know.

  • Entertainment Weekly
  • W Magazine
  • Sports Illustrated
  • HGTV Magazine
  • The Good Life
  • Motor Trend
  • Esquire
  • People Weekly
  • Men’s Health
  • Martha Stewart Living
  • Working Mother
  • GQ
  • Vogue
  • Shape
  • Cosmopolitan
  • Popular Mechanics

How many can I borrow at one time? The maximum number of books/magazines that you can borrow at one time is limited to ten. So, if you’re headed on vacation and will have limited or no access to the internet, you’re going to need to plan your book adventures until you connect with the internet.

Not sure where to start? With a catalog in the I’ll never be able to read all ;), I’ve browsed through and made a list of books that I think are a great start. I’ve categorized the authors and included links to the book pages. Please double before you click that they are indeed still included in the Kindle Unlimited program. As always, content is subject to change.

Authors Dish Final 300x300 Authors Dish with USA Best Selling Author Barbara Devlin, Harper Kincaid, and USA Today Best Selling Author Rebecca Norinnne

Welcome to Authors Dish where your favorite authors are sharing what they are reading. C’mon, even authors have a stash too!

In addition, if you enjoy reading their books they have suggestions for similar book adventures by other authors. It doesn’t get better than that!

Today in the cafe are USA Today Best Selling Author Barbara Devlin, Harper Kincaid, and USA Today Best Selling Author Rebecca Norinne.

Rae: Who are you reading?

Barbara Devlin pp Compressed 214x300 Authors Dish with USA Best Selling Author Barbara Devlin, Harper Kincaid, and USA Today Best Selling Author Rebecca NorinnneBarbara Devlin:  Currently on my bedside table is dog-eared copy of Marcel Proust’s Swann’s Way, specifically Part II, Swann in Love. I read Part I, Combray, and Part III, Place-Names, in grad school, but I’d never gone back and read the second part.

Harper Kincaid: My TBR list is ridiculous. An easier question is whom did I leave out? I read almost everything, in and out of romance.
Just finished Lynne Silver’s The Breeder – her new title with Carina. I don’t usually like dystopian anything, and I still really liked this one. But Lynne can write about love in a prison and it would work!

Rebecca Norinne: I can’t believe I’m admitting this, but I currently have 642 unread books on my Paperwhite. I used to read over 100 books a year, but that’s slowed down quite a bit with my current writing schedule. Still, I do love reading and try to carve out time for it whenever I can. My favorite reads from 2017 included books from Melanie Harlow, Kristen Callihan, Emma Chase, and Sierra Simone. More recently, I loved Sarina Bowen‘s Man Hands and Billionaire, and I can’t wait for Penny Reid‘s Marriage of Inconvenience. I also have a not-so-secret love of Regency romances, and I will pre-order anything Maya Rodale ever writes.

Rae: If readers are a fan of your books, who should they consider reading?

Barbara Devlin: Well, that depends on the context. If you’re asking me for recommendations based on books similar to mine, I’d say there are none, because I’m the only Barbara Devlin, and no one writes like me. My voice is my own. However, I do have some very close author friends who are like me in that they are self-assured women with a strong sense of themselves, which shines through their stories. Of course, I have to recommend anything by Kat Le Veque, because she has a unique voice and prose, which fills her medieval worlds. Then there’s Tina De Salvo, who puts so much of her soul into her wonderful Second Chance novels that you can hear that Louisiana twang as you flip the pages. Then there are the Dog Walker Mysteries by the late Judi McCoy. Judi was my longtime mentor and critique partner, and I loved her dearly. I still miss her weekly phone calls, and the last book she dedicated to me, Till Death Do Us Bark, still sits on my desk, as inspiration.

Harper Kincaid: If your a fan of Harper Kincaid consider these authors… Lucy Parker, Vi Keeland, Melanie Moreland, Penelope Ward :).

Rebecca Norinne: People who are into my sports romance series also pick up books by Sarina Bowen, Amy Andrews, Sawyer Bennett, and Sara Ney, to name a few. Since these are all authors I personally enjoy reading, I consider myself in good company. Because my non-sports books jump around a bit in subject matter, it’s a bit harder to nail down just a few recommendations, but you can’t go wrong with Lauren Blakely, K. Bromberg, Christy Pastore, and A.L. Jackson. My latest series is set in a small, fictional wine country town, so if that’s more your thing, you’re in luck!

Rae: Thank you so much authors! Let me know dear readers if you try any of these books. I’ll see you next week – same time for new authors and more fun!

** Author Bios **

Barbara Devlin: USA Today bestselling, Amazon All-Star author Barbara Devlin was born a storyteller, but it was a weeklong vacation to Bethany Beach, Delaware that forever changed her life. The little house her parents rented had a collection of books by Kathleen Woodiwiss, which exposed Barbara to the world of romance, and Shanna remains a personal favorite.
Barbara writes heartfelt historical romances that feature not so perfect heroes who may know how to seduce a woman but know nothing of marriage. And she prefers feisty but smart heroines who sometimes save the hero before they find their happily ever after.

Barbara is a disabled-in-the-line-of-duty retired police officer, and she earned an MA in English and continued a course of study for a Doctorate in Literature and Rhetoric. She happily considered herself an exceedingly eccentric English professor, until success in Indie publishing lured her into writing, full-time, featuring her fictional knighthood, the Brethren of the Coast.

Harper Kincaid: Born in California and raised in South Florida, Harper Kincaid has moved around like a gypsy with a bounty on her head ever since. For years, she was a jill of all trades and a master of none, but is now tickled hot pink to pen stories that break and mend people’s hearts for a living. Kincaid believes seduction occurs from the neck up, which is why her characters are smart, sexy, and slightly quirky – and definitely worthy to be your next hard-core book crush.

When not writing, she adores listening to indie, lo-fi, complaint rock played on vinyl, the theater, well-informed optimism, happy endings (both kinds), and making those close to her laugh ’til they snort. She is a self-admitted change junkie, loving new experiences and places, but has now happily settled in the cutest lil’ town, Vienna, Virginia.

Rebecca Norinne: USA TODAY bestselling author Rebecca Norinne writes steamy contemporary romance featuring strong, determined heroines and sexy, dominant heroes. If you love books filled with heart, heat, and happily-ever-afters, she’s got a story for you.

When not writing, Rebecca is watching rugby, drinking craft beer, and traveling the globe in search of inspiration for her next story. She lives in Dublin, Ireland, with her husband, but is originally from California.
