Seducing the Italian Tycoon by MK Meredith has witty banter, decadent and potent chemistry. Unable to travel right now? No problem, one-click this Italian adventure and consider it the best vacation you ever had without leaving your comfy couch.
Chase Huntington has one goal and that is to make sure that her family’s boutique hotel in Italy opens on time. Will she finally be able to prove to her family she’s the right one for the job and convince herself that she truly is the perfect candidate?
Drago DeLuca is driven by a desire to make sure his family hotel opens on time he will stop at nothing when a larger hotel jeopardizes the family business. Nothing will stop him from securing his future and succeeding.
When Chase discovers Drago’s motive for helping her “succeed” she will have to push through a mountain of a mess and confront him. Will Drago’s charm cure all or will the explosion diffuse everything they have both worked towards.
It’s time to visit Ferrara, a city rich with history, love, and lots of charm. A place where everyone is valued, important and plays a vital role in it’s success. The attention to detail is so spot on that when I pulled out my old photos from my backpacking adventures in Italy all those years ago, I smiled. From the recently revised book cover to the last page you’re transported into the perfect bookcation. The heart and soul, the essence of Ferrara, it’s perfection! Oh…there is one more thing, if you’re a biscotti lover like I am … you may have a new appreciation for the sweet treat. ;).
It’s time to sit back, relax and take a quick holiday with Chase and Drago in a spicy romance full of adventure, love and great food!
This spicy read is best enjoyed with your favorite iced-beverage, a cozy chair, and maybe a fan.
I previously received this book from the publisher for a fair and honest review.

MK Meredith writes single title contemporary romance novels which promise an emotional ride on heated sheets. A member of several writing groups, she believes the best route to success is to never stop learning.
She’s had a lifelong love affair with peanut butter — the only two things coming close in the battle for her affections are gorgeous heels, and maybe Gerard Butler…or was it David Gandy? Who is she kidding? Her true loves are her husband and two children who have survived her SEA’s (spontaneous explosions of affection) and live to tell the tale.
MK’s been reading romance long before she should have and can’t think of anything better than to fill her life with the promise of happily-ever-afters. When people ask, “Why romance?” She replies, “There is nothing more exhilarating than to write about one of the most powerful entities on earth. Love can be the fall of kingdoms and move mountains, destroy lives and create new life, inspire the dark and summon the light. Love is a challenge, a hope, and a miracle all wrapped into one. Love is life. I write about life.”
The Meredith’s live in the D.C. area with their two large fur babies…until the next adventure calls.
Jan 5, 2020 | 52 Week Reading Challenge, Blog, MK Meredith
Welcome to the first week in the 52 Week Reading Challenge. For my selection in the Self Help book genre I chose Not Your Usual Boob by MK Meredith.
Wait, before you send me messages, no I do not have not have breast cancer. No one in my family is currently receiving treatment. In fact, that’s exactly why I am reading it.
Years ago, my mother-in-law went through breast cancer and has since passed away. While she’s been gone over five years, I remember being with her after her treatments. I remember trying hard to find the right words to explain to my young children why she was sick, and working through my own emotions as my husband watched his mother battle cancer.
If you’re looking for a breast cancer book that’s a no-nonsense approach with the gritty truth and a lot of humor this book is for you. The overall theme of this book is that breast cancer sucks but you are strong enough to not let it suck all the wind out of you. You can battle this with small steps. One at a time. MK is a brave warrior and the way she tackled her diagnosis and treatment is not for everyone.
MK has family history that impacts her decisions and determination to fight strong. This book is written with honesty, bravery, and courage. I love that she posed for the cover, it’s real and so is this book.
When faced with difficult decisions I will take some of what MK stated to heart, and appreciate her candid honesty of what she went through as I see my doctors for any ailments I have. I could relate to a few things in the book and appreciate the way she presents the information in her own style. We can all benefit from the questions to ask, the support network to create, and the transparency that many don’t feel is necessary with friends and loved ones. If you’re one to keep everything health related close to the vest, I respect your decision. We all need to respect the choices people make and the plans they set. Be strong, be loud, and stick with your plan.
The book is easy to read and she is very truthful of how this impacted all aspects of her life from the physical impact to the emotional change with her husband and family.
I hope that if you are currently receiving treatment or know someone who is you’ll consider getting them this book. There is a disclaimer that pictures are posted at the back, I’m sure to someone going through this, they will be helpful.
Be your own advocate and demand answers when you think there should be something more. Don’t settle and most of all love yourself no matter what. You are worth it.
For added measure I must share that MK’s romance books are also worth the read. Check out her fiction backlist here:
What book did you read this week? I hope you were able to read and enjoy the adventure. Did you listen to an audio book? I can’t wait to hear what you read.

If you’re taking this journey with us, welcome. I’m looking forward to selecting books that educate, enlighten and hopefully bring change in a positive way. While romance is still near and dear to my heart a lot of things have happened in the community over the past week that show we all need to continue to research, educate and inspire change.
I also found a few other books that might be of interest for this weeks selection here:

Jun 28, 2019 | Authors Dish, Blog, Christi Barth, June 2019, MK Meredith, Samantha Chase
If you’re heading to New York City July 24-27, 2019 for RWA2019 or another conference reminders and tips are always helpful. Especially when it comes to packing, and as a first timer commuting to the hotel each day I am hoping I remember to pack all the things in one suitcase ;).
Hopefully you won’t find yourself waking up in the middle of the night panicked that you now need the very thing you forgot to pack. Or, finding out moments before you have a meeting or fun place to go, you ran out of or forgot something essential.
So, to all the newbies, and seasoned travel veterans, I’m running an Authors Dish specifically targeted on what authors and industry professionals always include in their suitcases, what they stash in their conference bag to avoid hunger pains and the things they forget once and hopefully never again. While some of the authors contributing are not attending we love that they want to contribute.
May this inspire you to plan, make your lists, and triple check so you are prepared for just about anything. If you’re heading to RWA2019 I’d love to say hi. Comment below so we can be sure to meet up in NYC.
Stay tuned as we’ll have plenty of tips and tricks in the upcoming weeks so check the blog daily.
Today in the cafe are NY Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Samantha Chase, USA Today Bestselling Author Christi Barth, and Author MK Meredith.
Rae: What five things do you have to pack when attending a conference?
Samantha Chase: My laptop, my Kindle, way more clothes than I will ever wear, Zzzquil (to help me sleep), and my travel fan.
Christi Barth:
5 things:
- I’m an overpacker extraordinaire (#noregrets) so I bring medicine for everything – you never know what will hit mid-con! Paranoid? Maybe. Super useful to either me or a friend-in-need? You bet!
- I always bring both a kindle and a paperback (in case the kindle breaks) because sometimes you have a 7 minute break and just need to read.
- A water bottle – it is too easy to not hydrate sufficiently. And the tiny cups in panel rooms are worthless. Bring your own bottle and refill in every workshop!
- A Tide Stick – again, either useful for you or a friend.
- A notebook – really, the clacking of keys on laptops is disrupting and rude to everyone else in a workshop. Go old school – stick to paper and pen!
MK Meredith: business cards, marketing materials, lip balm/gloss, phone charger, jacket or sweater to layer.
Rae: What is your snack attack must haves in your day bag?
Samantha: Lindt dark chocolate (70% cacao) and Coca Cola
Christi: Besides the aforementioned water bottle? Nuts/dried fruit. Easy to fill ziploc and have all week.
MK Meredith: PEANUT BUTTER!!!
Rae:What’s the one thing you forget to pack and swear to remember next time?
Samantha: I’m ashamed to say I never forget. I start packing a week in advance, make a list, check it twice (or fourteen). I usually overpack because I prepare for any and all situations! Yeah, I’m a dork like that.
Christi: Nothing – and here’s why – I have an Excel spreadsheet packing list. My friends mock me mercilessly about it, but everything is on it, and I just print a fresh one for every trip.
MK: Cash.
Rae: Thank you so much authors! I’ll be keeping a running list and will post it a week before RWA2019 so that hopefully no one needs to make a quick run to the lobby market or drug store around the corner. I’ll see you soon for new authors and more ideas!

Samantha Chase: Samantha Chase is a New York Times and USA Today bestseller of contemporary romance. She released her debut novel in 2011 and currently has more than forty titles under her belt! When she’s not working on a new story, she spends her time reading romances, playing way too many games of Scrabble or Solitaire on Facebook, wearing a tiara while playing with her sassy pug Maylene…oh, and spending time with her husband of 28 years and their two sons in North Carolina.
Christi Barth: USA TODAY bestselling author Christi Barth earned a Masters degree in vocal performance and embarked upon a career on the stage. A love of romance then drew her to wedding planning. Ultimately she succumbed to her lifelong love of books and now writes award-winning contemporary romance, including the Naked Men and Aisle Bound series.
Christi can always be found either whipping up gourmet meals (for fun, honest!) or with her nose in a book. She lives in Maryland with the best husband in the world.
MK Meredith: MK Meredith writes single title contemporary romance novels which promise an emotional ride on heated sheets. A member of several writing groups, she believes the best route to success is to never stop learning.

Draw You In by MK Meredith is a decadent read. It’s like that first bite of a lava cake – it’s velvety smooth, decadent and the goodness lasts until the very last bite, or page in this case 🙂
A small town in in danger of losing the newspaper are less than thrilled when Parker Edwards is sent but his intentions will surprise you. Will his ideas change more than the daily print?
One misunderstanding will impact the town, the paper, and the budding romance between Sage Matthews and the newly arrived Parker Edwards. These characters have so many layers and as each unfolds, you’ll discover why this book is a must read for your next book adventure.
Caution this slow burn is scorchin and may lead to unexpected need to turn on the A/C.
I received an ARC from the author for a fair and honest review.

Love Under the Hot Lights by MK Meredith, formerly Malibu Betrayals, is a Californian adventure with an inside look into Hollywood with this tender, witty and emotionally driven must read story. A romance for movie stars is never private and there is always someone who wants a piece of the action.
Samantha Dekker has no money and no career and wants to prove to herself and Hollywood that she can move beyond her tragic past. What will it take for her to overcome that small obstacle?
Gage Cutler is a well known actor and aspiring director and yearns to have the one woman who got away. Gage is willing to risk everything again but will Samantha let him in?
In any great romance there is pain and struggle but secrets still float between them. A long time ago Gage and Samantha were able to confide in each other, has too much time passed?
When Samantha’s family blames her for a tragedy will it push her over the edge? They have both had feelings for each other despite their circumstances. Hollywood is not known for keeping relationships quiet and the paparazzi can be cruel.
Gage has been in love with Samantha and keeps waiting for the right time to tell her. But, with threats, sabotage and deceit can Gage fix the wrong in her life and find a way to make a future with Sam?
I received a copy of the book from the Author for a fair and honest review.
** A note to readers, this was formerly published as Malibu Betrayals. Please check your e-library for Malibu Betrayals before one-clicking. My review was previously published 4/23/16. **
Check out for yourself now with this exclusive excerpt provided by MK Meredith:
“Tell me more about your feelings toward these crazy Cutler fans.”
Ignoring him, she looked him over from across the table, and purposely biting her lower lip, pushed her silverware around and then lined each piece up in straight lines once more. “Do you know your eyes are sometimes green and sometimes blue?”
He cocked a brow. “Really? You want to talk about my eyes?”
That showed what he knew; his eyes really were alluring. She raised her brows.
Gage stared at her a moment and grinned, taking a long swallow from his glass. “Fine, last I checked my eyes were blue.”
Adrenaline emboldened her as she held his gaze. “Not when you’re coming; then they’re green.”
Gage choked.
Sam’s heart lurched and her face flushed a few thousand degrees hotter. Flirting with him was its own kind of high, and she wanted more.
A bark of laughter broke from his lips, and he tried to muffle it with his napkin, knowing security wasn’t too far off. Gage leaned in. “To be honest, I’ve never seen my eyes when I—”
Sam threw her hand up. “No, God, don’t say it again.” She squirmed in her seat as heat flushed her skin. She wasn’t sure if it was from her embarrassment or his gaze.
He slid those damned eyes up and down her body, at least what was visible above the table, and took bite of his scallops, chewing while he teased, “Are you kidding? I can totally get on board with this change in topic.”
“I’m not changing the topic.” Her face warmed.
He cocked his brow again. “I want to hear more about the color of my eyes, and anything to do with ‘coming.’”
Well, she did start it. Sam snatched a piece of ice from her glass and sucked the end of it. Then, with slow purposeful movements, she ran the cube over her jaw and down the side of her neck. If they were going to keep this fun and playful, she needed to do her part. Besides, pushing the envelope was more fun than she’d ever imagined. She might just need to try it more often. Her voice low, forcing him to lean closer, she said, “Your eyes are blue when you’re calm, in control. But when you get hot, when your body tightens with wanting, they glow a light cyan. As you get closer—you know what I mean by closer.”
Gage all but lay across the table, paying rapt attention to her every word. He nodded with the slightest of movement.
“When your skin slides against my skin, my breasts pressed against your chest, your body so tight, so hot that it can’t handle even, one…more…stroke. Bam!” She slapped the table.
Gage jumped and she laughed. He grabbed his napkin to wipe his brow and downed the rest of his water in one long swallow.
“Green.”
“What?” Gage asked.
She tried not to enjoy herself too much, but he deserved it. If he wasn’t going to let her off the hook, she’d put him on one.

Cherish on the Cape by MK Meredith must be on your reading list, it will change your life forever. Cherish is raw, real, and hit home on a personal level. I imagine it will for many readers too. While this is the third book in her One the Cape series it can be read as a standalone. However, I highly recommend investing your time in this series, get to know the characters. It’s a trip you won’t regret taking :).
Claire Adams has spent the past few years living in an altered state of her planned future. A tragic accident instantly erased her plans and impacted her future. Despite her ability to deal with the loss, she still can’t open up her heart and find love. Is it possible that her friends know what’s best when it comes to her love life? Will she take their advice? The Cape is powerful and won’t let her give up on her dreams.
MK captured Claire’s emotions with dignity and navigated the loss of a child with sensitivity and compassion. The cast of characters were supportive, strong, and full of life. Each have their own obstacles to overcome and many do it with a sense of humor, and a wee bit of moonshine ;).
Mitch Brennan would give everything he has to the people of Cape Van Buren without hesitation. If only they could see beyond the mischievous teen he was, and the playboy man they think he’s become. There are so many layers to Mitch and the one I love the most is the way he honed in on what Claire needed to help her out without any expectation he’d get something in return. Some would say he’s hiding behind the rumors, but Claire is about to show Mitch that his future doesn’t have to be lived alone. One moment will prove that he’s got a heart of gold and an inner desire to be loved.
There is something familiar in the town of Cape Van Buren – the people, the landmarks and the overwhelming sense of comfort navigating through the streets. MK has written a tender and emotionally satisfying story of a woman who must learn to open her heart after a tragic loss. It will take trust and the ability to be vulnerable, we are ready for Claire to have her happy ending.
This book is a journey for anyone who is ready to embark on a coastal bookcation with characters that hook you in from the first page. Many people have said that the only thing standing in between you and your dreams is fear and this rings true throughout the story. Fear is toxic when you give it the power to destroy everything you desire. If Claire and Max can push beyond their own fears, their story will be one that’s talked about in Cape Van Buren for years to come!
Are you ready for a story of love lost, love found, and the ability to understand that sometimes the greatest gift we are given is to have more than one great love?
Caution, this scorchin read may lead to unexpected need to turn on the A/C.
I was given an ARC by the author for a fair and honest review.
