RT Vegas 186x300 Rough and Tumble by Crystal GreenThis first book in a new series is packed with crazy adventures, friendships and rough characters on the outskirts of Las Vegas, Nevada. After a dirty boss tries to blackmail Molly P. Preston into performing unmentionable things, she decides to leave town. Tired of being plain and predictable, her three best friends from college take Molly and embark on a road trip to Las Vegas. They discover the Rough & Tumble where anything can happen and anything goes.

Poor Molly is so stiff that it’s questionable whether she can let her hair down and have some fun. When they stumble into the Rough & Tumble for a unique and local experience they wind up with a detour and a whole lot of colorful encounters. After a game of poker between one of Molly’s friends and some locals goes horribly wrong, Molly realizes that she’s become the prize. All bets are off and new ones have just been placed.

A perfectly woven tale of self-discovery, friendship and acceptance of dealing with what life unexpectedly brings, sometimes in the form of paying debts owed. Unfortunately Molly finds out that her friend made a bad decision in a game of cards and seeks out her forgiveness.  The winner has come out of the backroom game intent on collecting his prize, a night alone with Molly.  His name is Cash and he’s everything sinful and bad that she associates with Sin City.

It’s a fact that true friends stick together no matter what and support each other through the best of times and worst of times.  I love how Molly has to go beyond her comfort zone and come to terms with her career, past relationships and friendships. It’s easy to judge a book by its cover and that’s how she initially reacts when she sees Cash and meets the rest of the regulars at the Rough and Tumble Saloon. The old saying “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas” is genuinely true. However, for Molly what happens on her trip to Vegas starts her on a magical journey.

Books allow us the chance to escape and with a seamless story this delivers the grit of small towns and adventure that we associate with desert towns in the old west.  Pack your bag, hop in the car and head out to the Rough & Tumble. You’ll realize there’s more to those small towns and edgy looking saloons. It might just be the answer you need for discovering your destiny and finding your soul mate. If a beer and whisky isn’t your preference, ask for the ginger ale and tell them Molly sent you!

You’ll have to wait till it’s available on July 15, 2014 as I was given an Advance Reader Copy (ARC).
