Just in Time for a Highlander (Sirens of the Scottish Borderlands Book 1) by Gwyn Cready is a brilliant highlander time travel romance filled with powerful women, unspoken love, battles, and lots of secrets.  A perfect book to sink into on a crisp autumn day in a cozy chair and a warm cup of comfort.

Duncan MacHarg loves to let off steam from his high powered job reinacting Scottish battle scenes. That is until he winds up in the middle of a real one in 1706 Scottland. Unsure of how he wound up back in time he needs to figure out things real quick to survive till sundown. With no internet, phone or home to go to he’s going to have to learn to adapt quickly if he’s to blend in unnoticed.

Abigail Kerr has a clan to protect and needs money to maintain her estate. There’s just one problem, no bank will lend money to women. Especially those not married. Things aren’t as it seems and there are secrets within her family that make it difficult to find happiness. When she leaves her happiness and fate in the hands of a little magic it results in one sexy modern stud named Duncan. What exactly will Abigail do with him? Are her prayers answered? Can this stranger convince her to follow her heart or push her to be a leader? If so, more than one heart might be at risk of breaking.

Time travel, land disputes and money problems are just a few roadblocks these two run into.  This book is fantastic and I love that the hero and heroine are two strong souls torn between obligation towards family, friendship and clan. This adventure will keep you on your toes till the vera last page.
