Jeanne Adams returns to Haven Harbor with Crashing Through the Snow, one of two novellas in a collection about New Year’s Eve romance. There is nothing more magical than a winter romance, a snowstorm, and second chances in a town where the unexpected is more often the norm. I’m always up for a Haven Harbor story and Jeanne Adams has packed a lot into this 35,000 word novella. I wish this had been a full-length Haven Harbor story.
Guy has worked hard to overcome a troubled relationship and move on from pain and loss. When he crashes into Garnet’s property on a snowy night it will open up wounds from the past. Both will have to come to terms how they deal with relationships. If Guy can earn Garnet’s forgiveness, they just might have something to celebrate when the clock strikes midnight on New Years Eve.
While I enjoyed this novella, at times I felt that there were places where I wanted more details when a scene was cut short. The novella moved along at a quick pace, quicker than I’d hoped. There is plenty of details that provide context to the characters and the setting to keep you engaged. While some details were not essential to the plot, it’s a welcomed nugget for devoted Haven Harbor fans.
There is something magical about Haven Harbor – the town, it’s people, and the unique abilities certain town members have. Hopefully the details that weren’t included will find their way into future releases, and characters whose stories have not had a happy ending, will finally get one. I sense Livy or Jake’s story will be next
I received an ARC from the author for a fair and honest review. This sinfully Sweet read is hotter than sweet with bedroom romance that tingles in all the right places, and a dash of spice to satisfy that slightly spicy craving.
I look forward to reading the other story in this anthology, Magick in the Air by Barbara Devlin. If you have I’d love to hear your thoughts.
