Rekindle the Flame by Kate Meader is a novella first featured in the Baby It’s Cold Outside Collection, released last October. If you’re looking for a fantastic firefighters series then sit back and get ready to meet the fine and sexy firefighters of Engine Co. 6 in Chicago.
There is nothing better than a holiday novella filled with tension, adventure and a few drunk Santas. This has all of that and more.
Former lovers are reunited during a freak run-in with a drunk Santa. Years have passed since Beck Rivera pushed Darcy Cochrane away. Family history didn’t matter for these two who came from different sides of town. Fearing more than a broken heart there was no happy ending.
Beck is a proud Chicago firefighter who loves his family and the brothers with whom he serves. Living by a code to protect those both in and out of the firehouse is how he lives his life. When an old flame reappears and needs rescuing, will he be her savior?
Darcy Cochrane isn’t sure if she’s the same pampered princess that Beck remembers. Years have passed and so much has changed, including her career. When Beck learns how she’s made her mark in the world, will it shock him?
Darcy wanted to escape the confines of her family and made a name for herself in a different way. Now that she’s back, it’s time to settle the one thing she left town without finishing, Beck. Can she love him and leave him or will this be one fire that can’t be put out.
Grab a hot mug of your favorite drink, sit in your favorite chair and cozy up with a blanket. This is one fantastic introduction into the Hot in Chicago series. From the cover to the last page this is one series you won’t want to miss.
I received this ARC collection for a fair and honest review. At a pre-order price of $1.99 this must read novella is a must buy. Release day is November 30th or if you can’t wait, download the Collection now. Either way, it’s a great way to start the fall season off.
Get ready for FIVE days of fun with the brave firefighters of Engine Co. 6 in Chicago. I’ll be reviewing a different book each day in this must read series. My blitz will end next Tuesday when Kate will stop by for coffee and fun as we celebrate her release day!
One quick note, Flirting with Fire is on sale for $1.99 until the 27th so grab your copy now!
Author Info:
Originally from Ireland, Kate cut her romance reader teeth on Maeve Binchy and Jilly Cooper novels, with some Mills & Boon thrown in for variety. Give her tales about brooding mill owners, oversexed equestrians, and men who can rock an apron or a fire hose, and she’s there. Now based in Chicago, she writes sexy contemporary romance with alpha heroes and strong heroines who can match their men quip for quip.

I’ve decided that it’s time for a challenge of sorts. We all have a daily “to do” list a mile long and the never ending “I’ll do it tomorrow” list. I wanted to push myself so I’d have no choice but to just do it!
I was watching those infomercials the other night – the ones that say you can change your body in 30 days. It got me thinking. What else could I do in 30 days?
Dear Readers here is my 30 Day Challenge starting today:
30 books read
30 minutes daily cardio
30 days of continuous blog posts
30 new followers
What’s your 30 day challenge?
Sep 24, 2015 | Blog, Coffee With, Jeanette Murray, September 2015
First, if we were meeting at a coffee shop I’d be drinking a Latte 🙂 What would you order?
I’d order a mocha with an extra shot if I was under deadline, which I currently am!
Thanks so much for taking the time to answer a few questions. I LOVE books about football and your series about The Santa Fe Bobcats I’m really enjoying! 🙂
Thank you so much! Glad to hear it.
How many books do you anticipate in this series?
I just signed a deal for three more books, so at least five total! But I could see carrying on with the series as long as readers are having fun with them. That’s what matters most. If the readers want them, I can see moving forward with more.
How much research did you do for this?
Oh, hours of long, hard work staring at photos of hot men. Hard, hard work…
Were you a fan of football before you started writing this series?
I was, though not as much as my husband. He’s a college football fanatic, and we’re both Colts fans, though we do miss Peyton. So we now follow the Broncos, just for him.
What was the inspiration for writing a football series?
When I watch sports, I like the ones that are really down and dirty. I’m not a basketball fan because you touch a guy and it’s a foul. Come on, get in there, rough it up a bit, guys. Plus, hello sexy tight football pants…
I can only imagine how much fun that would be! Were you able to hang out with any hunky football players?
Nah. We live a stone’s throw from St. Louis so one day I’d love to find a way to get a behind-the-scenes tour of the Rams facilities and get the low down. But so far, nothing.
Thank you so much for hanging out.
8 Tantalizing Tidbits
1. A Must read book and why?
Where the Red Fern Grows…because I feel like you need to know what it feels like to have a book break your heart, and that one is a 100% given.
2. What is one place that I should see if I visit your hometown?
Me! haha Just kidding. I really adore City Museum. Very unique.
3. If you had an all expenses paid trip anywhere in the world for research, where would you go?
Australia. I’ve always wanted to go, and I wouldn’t hesitate to go for, uh, research…
4. What is your guilty pleasure?
I can’t believe I’m admitting this but… Cheez Whiz (from the can, naturally) and Wheat Thins. I know it’s horrible, but I love this combo. I’m gonna go hide now…
5. Organized or Free Floating?
Organized…mostly. I’m free floating on life and home details like meal planning (suck at it) and chore keep up (suck at that, too). But when it comes to work and schedules and knowing who is going where at what time, or bill paying…I’m a machine.
6. Binge watcher or weekly viewer?
Binge watcher! Hardcore. We gave up cable about 2.5 years ago and we don’t miss it. I wait until stuff hits Netflix and just go crazy. I can get through an entire season of a TV show in under three days.
7. What’s your favorite TV show and why?
Gilmore Girls, because of the dialogue. I adore the way those two girls can go back and forth almost without taking a breath. In my teenage years, I truly envied how quick Lorelei was with a comeback.
8. Would you rather see a movie in the theatre or at home on DVD and why?
DVD at home. I like being able to pause, rewind, pause again, and eat whatever snack I effing please while watching.

Loving Him Off the Field (Santa Fe Bobcats Book 2) by Jeanette Murray blends football, sexy players and hot chemistry perfectly. Killian Reeves is a kicker for the Santa Fe Bobcats who stays away from reporters. Aileen Rogers is a struggling reporter who’s good for nothing boss dares her to do whatever it takes to get that big story. If she does, he’ll pass along her “tape” to his connections at all the major networks. Word on the street is the Santa Fe Bobcats is where she might be able to get her big break, if she’s willing to sell her soul.
Determined to make something of herself beyond the Hollywood gossip circuit she convinces Killian to 30 days of interviewing. If he’ll give her access to a month with a camera rolling and some decent questions, she’ll leave him alone. Intrigued by her request Killian sweetens the deal by adding his own demands and the clock starts counting down. Aileen hates her job and is convinced this interview with the illusive kicker Killian will put her on the map!
Unfortunately, when her boss asks her to do whatever it takes to get the dirt that she needs, she has a difficult decision to make. When the subject is the sexy football player she’s attracted to, will she use him to further her career or do the right thing? Falling for him wasn’t in the plans and at the moment may compromise her agenda. Only when his secrets start to emerge, Killian wonders if it will hurt his career. If the press, more specifically Aileen, finds out how long he’s been holding out his career may be over. Everything he’s worked so hard to protect might be destroyed. Will he let Aileen in or push her away?
I received an ARC by the publisher for a fair and honest review. Definitely worth your time and sexy football players during Football season is a double bonus!
Author Info:
Jeanette spends her days surrounded by hunky alpha men…at least in her imagination. In real life, she’s a wife and a mother, keeping tabs on her husband of seven years, her four year old daughter (often called Tot) and the family dog, a lovable (but completely stupid) Goldendoodle named Clyde. Hang around long enough and you’`re guaranteed to hear at least one or two stories about these three. She and her family currently live just outside of St. Louis.
What’s with the two names? Great question. Jeanette writes for a few different publishers. And due to the timing of some releases, two names just seemed like the right option. But Jeanette can assure you, no matter which pen name you’re reading, you’re going to get sexy contemporary love.
Sep 20, 2015 | Blog, Julia Quinn, September 2015
The Sum of All Kisses by Julia Quinn is magical and deliciously satisfying. If only everything could be measured in kisses.
Hugh Prentice was involved in a duel years ago with Sara Pleinsworth’s cousin Daniel. Unfortunately, Sarah is still very upset and angry since that tragic and awful day.
Hugh still faces outcries from the aftermath and Sarah can’t forgive him because after that day, she lost her chance for eternal happiness.
How do you forgive someone who ruined your “forever after?” Can she allow herself to see beyond Hugh’s physical limitations and accept him for what truly matters. Hugh has been gifted with a charming personality and a penchant for numbers. Could he be the one to give her all she wants?
Neither Hugh or Sara can let go of the circumstances that led up to the present. Will a family wedding that includes a week in close contact change their perception of each other? Will they be able to leave the past behind and survive the gossip amongst the ton?
Too bad weddings today aren’t week long retreats that include handsome suitors like these! If so, the odds of anyone getting any work done would be slim to none. This is a perfect selection for an afternoon escape. Grab your copy and transport yourself to 1824.
I love supporting our library and this tender tale was worth the wait to read.

Five Things I Love About You by Sarah Ballance is fresh, flirty and absolutely yummy. What do you do when you are in a city that you can’t stand? No friends in sight, no family to comfort and clearly nothing that makes it warm and fuzzy?
Leave it to Estelle Donovan to wind up in New York City having to fend for herself. Estelle is essentially one hot mess and is convinced there is nothing fabulous in or about NYC. The million dollar question remains, how did her brother convinced her to watch over his apartment?
Unhappy and frustrated, Estelle must find ways to function and cope in this hot city, if it’s even possible. That includes grocery shopping at a store where nothing makes sense. Sarah Ballance has made this simple task absolutely memorable and charming. It’s just one of many memorable scenes in this fast paced, sinfully satisfying book!
Estelle is missing the the calm and zen of the West coast, even with an open mind. But, what if something or someone could change her mind?
Crosby Chase is dedicated to his family business and has little time for relationships or any social life. Can this career guy finally find someone to distract and tempt him? When he meets Estelle his world is turned upside down. It’s exactly what he needs, will he recognize it before it’s too late?
When you think about NYC what comes to mind? Perhaps street noise from the cars, taxis and people bustling about? How about the buildings enveloping you as you walk those long city blocks? Or maybe it’s something else you’ve been looking forward to seeing. After reading this delightful little treat, you will never walk down a city street and look at a fire escape the same way again, ever. Trust me 😉
The characters are genuine, multi-layered and completely endearing. As soon a you’re finished I challenge you to discover what’s so fabulous about your own city. When you have, let me know. I’m always looking for a great place to visit.
Relationships are supposed to be complicated, fun and unpredictable. Love can be messy, turbulent and oh so sweet Especially when you least expect it. Could you find five things to love about NYC (or any city) in two weeks? I dare you 😉

Sarah and her husband of what he calls “many long, long years” live on the mid-Atlantic coast with their six young children, all of whom are perfectly adorable when they’re asleep. She never dreamed of becoming an author, but as a homeschooling mom, she often jokes she writes fiction because if she wants anyone to listen to her, she has to make them up. As it turns out, her characters aren’t much better than the kids, but nevertheless, you’ll find her writing sexy contemporary romance for Entangled Publishing until they throw her out.
