Effie Kammenou is a believer that it is never too late to chase your dreams, follow your heart or change your career. She is proof of that. 1. What is your favorite Thanksgiving tradition? Our favorite tradition is cuddling together on the couch after dinner and watching a holiday movie. The lead-time up to the dinner is hectic and once the bird is consumed and leftover put away, we get into our pj’s and just laugh and share popcorn over one of our fave movies.
2. How do you decorate your table and home?ย I am a Christmas overachiever so I keep my Thanksgiving decorations to a minimum. I love to splurge on a floral arrangementย and I use linens with turkeys embroideredย on them. Honestly, I keep it low key because the next day I enlist my whole family to helpย me decorateย the house and my 6 trees for Christmas!
3. My favorite hostess gift is…ย If I’m the hostess – it is just the presence of a loved one. I don’t need anything. If I’m giving one – I usually give them a good bottle of wine or a mix to make spiced cider. Something that they can enjoy in a moment of downtime.
4. It’s time to pack up the leftovers, what do you do with all the food? Share it, use it for other yummy dishes or toss it?
My go-to for leftovers is a turkey pot pie and a shepherd’s pie. I use the leftover turkey, veggies and mashed potatoes – my family loves them both!
5. Black Friday shopping – on line fun, up early with a cup of java and a long list, or last minute shopper and don’t care about the sales? ONLINE! My Friday after is spent decorating my house, no time to go out shopping!
6. I am thankful for…
The health of me and my family.ย We are all in a good place and I will never take that for granted.

โOkay,โ she conceded, raising her chin. โWeโll talk.โ Those golden eyes took her in, assessed her. Slowly, he nodded. Then he stood up, buttoning the single button of his coat as if getting ready to leave.
Frustrated, she said, โBut I thought we were going to talk.โ
His eyes narrowed with a smirk as he walked around the table toward her. He tipped up her chin with a hot fingertip and searched her eyes. โYou really think Iโm going to trust your word, Princesa?โ She could feel the warm puffs of his words against her lips. โSend the amended contract to my attorney. Tomorrow weโll talk.โ He nodded. โAnd since Iโm feeling generous and youโve already used up one night of your three, weโll also do…whatever else you want to do. After we talk.โ
His quick kiss was a surprise, barely a brush of skin and wine-spiced breath. Still it made her lips tingle.
Still it made her gasp a quick intake of breath. He heard her and rewarded her with his first real smile as he straightened.
His smile was glorious, a slow reveal of blinding white teeth and a dimple in his right cheek and laugh lines that pointed to eyes that seemed to glow just for her. His smile made her not care that he was laughing at her, that heโd palmed some of the power for himself and that he was gloating. His smile was beautiful, transforming her sullen, angry prince into a man who obviously felt joy enough to get laugh lines, a man who probably spent a lot of time smiling when she wasnโt around.
He turned his back on her and Roxanne watched his broad, tall silhouette leave, hands in his pockets, head probably already back in his greenhouse.
His smileโand the man himself, Roxanne was starting to realizeโwas very, very, very dangerous.

3. My favorite hostess gift is…ย To offer help with clean up. It solves the introvert โwhy are all these people here?โ anxiety tendencies and is usually appreciated. Also, a bottle of whiskey goes a long way toward goodwill.
4. It’s time to pack up the leftovers, what do you do with all the food? Share it, use it for other yummy dishes or toss it?
Who said there would be leftovers?!? Itโs an all-day graze.
5. Black Friday shopping – on line fun, up early with a cup of java and a long list, or last minute shopper and don’t care about the sales? Everyone else can line up for the deal of the moment. Iโll be kicking back with a big mug of tea and Tiny Editor on the balcony reading a romance a novel. But Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday when the indie booksellers like The Ripped Bodice tend to run discounts or special promo packages? Itโs on.
6. I am thankful for… So much this and every year. I appreciate every single reader who has given their time to help my little novel Tides of Time. Readers have tons of choices out there, and it means a lot when they choose to spend it with my characters. Thank you for every page read, every social media boost, every review.
