Wyatt 1450 187x300 Wyatt by Lynn Raye Harris Blog BlitzWyatt by Lynn Raye Harris is the fourth book in the 7 Brides for 7 Soldiers series. A series that centers around the lives of seven friends, the family struggles and the town they live in. A book rich with family struggles, differences and betrayal have shaped each soldier into men worthy of their own story.

Wyatt Chandler has returned to Eagles Ridge after a traumatic incident with the Navy SEALs. Intent on taking care of his Gran, that’s the only thing that matters to him. Is he using her as an excuse to escape the reality of what he needs to do?

Paige Spencer, TV show reality star and Diva Princess has received threats, her father will stop at nothing to keep her safe. A little bit of time away from the public eye should be enough to track down who is after Paige. If only she was prepared for what was waiting for her, and it isn’t the paparazzi.

Wyatt will discover that he must overcome his past and what happened in the field in order to survive as a civilian. Paige is used to getting her way, or tossing her credit card to fix things. Wyatt will teach her that sometimes a little hard work can be more satisfying than just paying someone to do the job.  Will Page be the one to finally help Wyatt open up and talk about why he left his unit? If both of them can open up and be truthful of what they really want, they might find out that what they truly desire is right in Eagle’s Ridge.

Are you ready for a bookcation? You won’t be able to resist Wyatt 😉 I love books with pets, and the cat in this story, OMG – love the cat. If you haven’t read any of the other books in this series fear not, they can all be read as a standalone. However, they are best enjoyed in order ;).

This two peppers spicy latte has just enough to make you tingle and is it’s for mature readers 18+. %name Wyatt by Lynn Raye Harris Blog Blitz

Coffee With Author Lucy Farago

%name Coffee With Author Lucy FaragoRae: Lucy thank you so much for hanging out with me today. If we were meeting at a coffee shop I’d be drinking a spiced latte with Coconut Milk. What would you order?

Lucy: Cafe latte…with a shot of Baileys.

Rae: Earlier this year we met at RT Booklovers in Atlanta, what advise can you give to a reader if they are attending in 2018 for the first time?

Lucy: Take a friend with you. The lines are long and while its a great way to meet people, its always more fun with someone you already know.

Rae: It’s hard to believe that it’s almost the end of October, time flies when there are books to read and books to write. Do you have any traditions or decorate the house?

Lucy: No, but I do complain about summer ending and winter starting… a lot…a whole lot.

Rae: Canada celebrated Thanksgiving last month, do you have a favorite dish you make each year?

Lucy: No. Thanksgiving isn’t that big a deal in Canada. But we started frying our turkey! My husband looks forward to it every year.

Rae: For those who are not familiar with your work, you write romantic suspense and have two series – Search and Recover and Women of Vegas. Can you tell us a little bit about them. Will there be more books in the series?

Lucy: The Women of Vegas series is four books and centres around women and how their quest for redemption finds them love. Although all four are strong women, each struggle with things they’ve done in the past, hence “Sin” in each title. Sin on the Strip, Sin and the Millionaire, Sin on the Run and Sins That Haunt. The Search and Recover series is about the men you met in my first series, the men of ICU, an elite search and recovery organization under the guise of a private investigation agency. Their journey will test them like no other and when they’re done, the women by their sides will have made everything they went through worth it.

Rae: When did you realize that you wanted to write romance?

Lucy: I love Karen Marie Moning’s book and I decided I’d to try my hand at it. I never set out to be a writer. I just wanted to see if I could do it.

Rae: What inspired your first book and was that the one that was published?

Lucy: My first book is an historical romance and it’s never been published. One day…maybe.

Rae: In your bio you talk about your journey to publishing and am so happy you decided to change careers. I love reading your stories! What advise can you give to aspiring writers who have been writing a while without any interest or feedback?

Lucy: Join a writer group. One, someone will read your work and Two, someone will be there to cheer you on when the news isn’t good.

Rae: When you are writing a book, do you plot it out page by page, chapter by chapter? Or, do your characters guide you?

Lucy: I wish I plotted better but I never really figure out my characters or my twists until I’m 2/3 done.

Rae: When you sit down to write, do you focus on words per day or a time-block for a specific day?

Lucy: I write until I don’t. Setting goals never works for me and I don’t like to frustrate myself.

Rae: What can we expect to see on the bookshelves in the upcoming months?

cover113492 medium 200x300 Coffee With Author Lucy FaragoLucy: A Necessary Deception—Monty’s story, comes out in the spring and is set in Alaska. The cover is awesome, the best one yet. but I can’t wait to reveal it.

Lucy: I’ll be in Denver for RWA next July and in Ottawa for Romancing the Capital with Eve Langlais. And I’m always on Facebook.

Rae: Thank you for hanging out in the cafe today.

**** Tasty Tidbits ****

1. What is a must read book and why? I enjoy books that make me laugh. So for that reason,”Lamb, the Gospel of Biff, Christ’s Childhood Pal”. I love Christopher Moore. The man is a god.

2. What is one place that I should see if I visit your hometown? The Rideau Canal. It’s the longest skating rink in the world and is beautiful in the summer.

3. Do you take-in or cook? If so, what is your “go-to” dish? Owning a restaurant means we take-in often, but I enjoy cooking more. That said, my kids and I prefer Pad Thai to hamburgers.

4. What is one thing readers would be surprised to know about you? I own 4 gourmet burger restaurants.

5. Hard Rock or Classical? Favorite Band or Artist? Neither. While I enjoy rock, it’s not my go-too music. I do like Bon Jovi and Aerosmith but I’m really like Maroon Five.

6. If you had an all expenses paid trip anywhere in the world for research, where would you go? I’ve always wanted to go an exotic island. I don’t care where, as long as it has cool rooms and a great beach.

7. What is your guilty pleasure? I don’t really have one, but if there is Pecan Pie on the menu, I order it.

8. What are you afraid of? You’d never catch me alone…in a farmhouse….in the middle of no where…with stupid people in clown costumes.

9. Tats or No Tats? If tats, how many and what did you choose for your first one? I have an orchid on my foot. I had a Lady Di wedding bouquet with orchids.

10. Organized or Free Floating? Free floating, but in I was I had the energy for organized.

16. If you could pick a book you’ve read and make it into a movie, which book would it be (besides yours 🙂 )? Biff. Christopher Moore says there is no hidden meaning in his books. I think he’s lying. This book makes you think about the life of Christ and what we don’t know or think we know.

17. What’s your favorite movie of all time and why? Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, and do you really need to ask?

18. Would you rather see a movie in the theater or at home on DVD and why? I don’t see a ton of theatre movies. I prefer being able to stop the movie when I want.

Mr. Big by Delancey Stewart – Review and Excerpt

MrBigCover 197x300 Mr. Big by Delancey Stewart Review and ExcerptMr. Big by Delancey Stewart is full of hot chemistry and characters that squeeze into that soft spot in your heart. One-click and discover a man troubled by family secrets and the woman who will show him how to embrace and accept his past. I love when a book can make me laugh, cry, and crave more from it’s characters. I do hope that there will be more!

Oliver Cody has a family obligation, one that is supposed to define him. A family tragedy changes everything. Now forced to face his demons will he push everyone away? For the first time he will discover that he will need to trust in order to heal.

Holland O’Dell has worked her ass off to make something of her life. A job she loves despite being passed over for promotions. When she vents over coffee to a stranger, will her life turn around? What will she do when she uncovers his identity?

Holland and Oliver are more alike than they realize, and the things they crave the most make them so perfectly matched. I love the tenacity and dedication they share. The chemistry is hot, and the story is packed with little nuggets to keep you reading till the very last page.

I loved reading this story of a man on the brink of a break-down and whose world is turned upside down. Oliver Cody is sexy, smart and struggling to find himself after a devastating loss that brings tragic news. Holland will impact his life and show him that things aren’t always as they seem. If Oliver and Holland are going to work they will have to accept the things they can’t change from the past and learn to trust in each other. It’s great to plan but sometimes it’s the unplanned events that matter the most and change our lives for the better!

Don’t miss this must read! With the heat and intensity in this book I give it three Peppers as it’s pretty hot and might offend. For mature readers 18+%name Mr. Big by Delancey Stewart Review and Excerpt

EXCERPT:

I stepped out of the elevator and accidentally made eye contact with the receptionist.
She popped up from behind the tall lobby desk on the executive floor like a perky whack-a-mole. She hesitated, as if for a second she thought she’d made a mistake about who I was—I wore a ball cap low over my eyes and my hair was a long mess hanging around my neck. I didn’t look the part of CEO. But then she stepped out, clearly having confirmed my identity somehow. “Sir, there are a few messages,” she said, her fist full of pink message slips. It seemed she had a knack for understatement.
“No.” I strode past her, ignoring the hurt look on her face and instantly regretting the terse bark of my own voice.
The top floor of Cody Technology was made up of the CEO and CFO’s offices, along with the office of our lead counsel. Three secretaries were positioned around the circular interior, one in front of each door, sentinels guarding their respective power players.
“Is Rob in?” I stood in front of the center desk, before the CFO’s secretary.
She took her time looking up from her screen, and her eyes narrowed in suspicion as they took in the ripped jeans, faded T-shirt, and Dodgers cap pulled low over my face, which sported three days’ worth of stubble.
“You have an appointment with Mr. Eastburn?” she asked, adding emphasis on the “Mr.” part, sending me a message about his importance.
I stood silently and watched recognition clear the uppity smirk from her features. A cold apologetic fear replaced her smug smile and she sat up straighter, raising her hands in an apology. “Oh God, Mr. Cody! I didn’t recognize you, I . . . uh . . .”
I didn’t have the energy for this. I stepped around the desk and walked into Rob’s office as the woman continued apologizing outside.
“Rob,” I barked. My best friend and CFO of Cody Technology jumped up from his desk, and I watched his face run through several expressions back-to-back. Surprise, sympathy, irritation, back to sympathy. “You left a message?”
He came around the desk and reached out his arms as if he were going to pull me into a hug, but then seemed to think better of it. He crossed his arms and ran a hand across his jaw. “Ollie, I’m so sorry, man.”
I shook my head. I didn’t want his sympathy. I didn’t want anyone’s sympathy. It was part of why I’d avoided seeing anyone I knew after the funeral. They didn’t know me, anyway. How could they, when I didn’t even know myself? The lawyer had confirmed that. “What’s going on?” I asked, my voice sharp as I stood tense in the center of his office.
“I just . . .” Rob struggled, and I watched us from somewhere above, totally removed. I’d known Rob since we were kids. I could read him like a book, and he looked like a kid now—confused and uncertain. “Do you wanna go get a drink, man? Talk a bit?”
“Let me make this easy,” I said. “Adam’s gone. I’m gone. I’m going to sell my shares as soon as I can, and you can do whatever you want with what’s left.”
Rob’s face slackened, his dark eyes widening. “What? You can’t do that, Oliver. I mean . . . why would you do that?”
“Things have changed.”
“I know you were searching before the accident, trying to figure some things out,” he said. “But . . .” He shook his head, his eyes falling to the plush carpet as if he might find the answers there in the complex weave. “This place is your legacy, man.”
His words felt like a punch to the gut and I realized how much I wanted a drink. Just not with Rob. Not with anyone who believed they knew exactly who Oliver Cody was.

Excerpt

As I walk, I check the weather app on my phone, delighted to see that while it’s nothing but rain today, there’s a chance of a snow shower tomorrow. Nothing says Christmas break like snow.
I just miss my train, but there’s a decent-ish voice singing “White Christmas” nearby, and the platform’s not too crowded, so waiting’s not as bad as it could be.
My eye catches on a middle-aged woman who’s set up camp under one of the stairwells. It’s not unusual to see all manner of people under the streets of New York, although this one’s better dressed than most. She’s wearing a blousy red shirt, jeans, and ankle boots, and is sitting cross-legged on a plaid blanket. She’s got twigs of what seem to be fake roses in her hair.
None of that’s the weird part.
What’s weird is that she’s watching me. Intently.
We make awkward eye contact, and I give a quick smile before turning my attention back to my phone.
But I still feel her eyes on me.
Not in an unfriendly way, not in the way that makes me mentally catalog whether or not I saw any cops on my way down here who would hear me if I scream. She doesn’t seem eager to push me onto the train tracks either, and since that’s every New Yorker’s secret fear, that’s a plus.
Still, the focus is unsettling. I glance up again, and her eyes lock on mine. Her dark gaze is clear and focused, and I can’t decide if that’s more or less disturbing than if she seemed sort of hazy.
Then she smiles right at me. “Kelly.”
I get immediate goosebumps for reasons that have nothing to do with the winter weather. She knows my name.
“Come.” She beckons. “Come. I see.”
Now you’re thinking, Hell, no. Run!
I should be thinking the same, and on some level, I am, but . . .
There are a couple dozen people around. None are paying attention to me, but it’s not like I’m all alone in a dark alley.
And look, we’ve already established that I believe in fate expressing itself through a Magic 8 ball and horoscopes, and though I haven’t mentioned it yet, I totally avoid black cats, the number thirteen, and walking under ladders.
I also believe that there’s such a thing as sight. I know, because my grandma had it.
Grandma Shirley was one of those delightfully batty old ladies that most people dismissed as quirky, but nobody can deny that she seemed to know stuff. She knew when I’d win my soccer game, and by how many points. She knew when her cat’s litter of kittens would be born, down to the minute. Once she’d even predicted an earthquake, even though they’re really rare in New York.
She’d passed away when I was in eleventh grade (she’d predicted the when and how of that too), and though I didn’t inherit her talents, I’ve never stopped believing that some people see and know things that they shouldn’t. I call it the Sight.
I step closer, and the woman grins and beckons me even nearer.
I stop a healthy few feet away. I’m superstitious, not crazy.
The woman leans forward. “You seek love.”
Huh. Color me unimpressed. I mean, don’t most humans seek love? Sure, I’m recently single, and I don’t particularly want to be. And maybe I sometimes try a little too hard to find my forever guy.
But I’m not hearing anything other than generic lucky guesses from this lady.
“Sure,” I say, already starting to back away.
She holds up a hand. “The one you seek? Your forever guy, the love of your life . . .”
I freeze, because her phrasing echoes my thoughts almost exactly. A coincidence? Maybe. I don’t move away just yet, willing to hear her out.
She smiles again. “You’ve already met him.”
I blink. “What? I think you may want to recheck that crystal ball. I’m single.”
Her smile merely grows. “I didn’t say you weren’t single. I said you’d already met him. You just let him go. He’ll come back to you before Christmas.”
Whoa whoa whoa. This is . . .
Huh.
“You’re telling me that the love of my life is one of my exes?”
She extends both of her palms as though to say, There you have it!
I stifle a little surge of disappointment. Clearly she hasn’t met my exes. There are some decent ones in the mix, but mostly they’re duds, and none of them make my heart beat faster. Well, maybe—
Nope. No. Do not go there.
Thankfully, I feel the rumble of an oncoming train, and a glance over my shoulder tells me my ride outta here is approaching.
“Thanks very much,” I say with a strained smile. “Merry Christmas.”
“Happy holidays,” she says with a nod, standing and gathering up her blanket. Apparently she’s taken a cue from Madison Meyers and is sticking close to the PC route. Fair enough.
I lift a hand in a wave and move toward the train, but her next words give me a fresh wave of new goosebumps.
“Tell your parents happy anniversary. Thirty’s going to be a magical year for them.”
I whip my head around. “How did you—”
The woman is gone.
Like vanished gone.
Leaving me to wonder . . .
If a woman I’d never met was right about my parents’ anniversary, was she also right about other stuff?
Have I already met my one true love?
