Jack by Julia London is the fifth book in the 7 Brides for 7 Soldiers series. A series that centers around the lives of seven friends, the family struggles and the town they live in. A book where family is everything, the struggles are real, and the bond of brotherhood has shaped each soldier into men worthy of their own standalone story. But trust me, you’ll want to read them all.
Jack Carter returned two years ago but can’t adjust and has found ways to avoid acclimating and returning to normal, whatever that is. Stuck in his own personal hell he’s living in fear. Yet, with the modern conveniences, he’s able to get everything he needs with one phone call or click of a button. Will he ever be able to trust anyone? .
Whitney Baldwin is ready to stand on her own and make the world a better place, one cupcake at a time. Will she find the courage to stand up to her family and pursue her dreams? It will take a lot of patience to push through paperwork, rejections and a few roadblocks if she’s going to achieve her dream. When a sexy client threatens to derail him, will she give in to her feelings or push him away?
Jack and Whitney have a chemistry that sizzles. Yet, even with the secrets Jack is struggling to prove himself. When he makes an important promise Whitney is going to have to trust him not to let her down, will he keep it? Will their unique relationship survive? Jack will need to conquer his worst fears for true love and the journey is absolutely exciting.
Adjustments are challenging enough when faced with insurmountable odds, but for Jack, he’s going to have to learn to trust. Trust himself, his family, and the one woman who will change his life forever. There is something about Whitney that ignites a passion beyond the kitchen. We all live with our own cocktail of fear, anxiety and rejection. This story is full of hope, promise and how to overcome challenges that seem impossible. The world Jack lives in is the same one that so many struggle with as a consequence of merely doing a job they love. Julia has addressed this in a respectful and loving way and I applaud her, it’s a must read that will make your heart squeeze.
If you’re looking for a slow burn that has witty one-liners, lovable characters, a furry friend and enough heat to warm you up on a cold winter night, one-click this book. If you haven’t read any of the other books in this series fear not, there are no spoilers as they can all be read as a standalone. However, I think reading them in order makes the journey more fun!
This two peppers spicy latte has just enough to make you tingle and is it’s for mature readers 18+.
I received this ARC from InkSlingerPR for a fair and honest review.

May your home be full of laughter and family this holiday weekend. I am looking forward to curling up in a cozy chair to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade with the family while I drink my coffee. The smiles on the kids faces as we watch our favorites walk by is even better. No work, no school, and no stress.
Surrounded by family and friends the afternoon will be packed with great food and conversation. May your home be full of health, laughter, and great memories. Don’t forget to take pictures ;).
As you take time to reflect on the wonderful moments this year be sure to remember those who are no longer with us. those who are serving our country, and those who are unable to be with loved ones. May your hearts be full and your separations end soon. -Rae

Reader Friends –
I am so excited to
reveal the covers for my next series. Aren’t they gorgeous?
An edgy romantic
suspense set in in Baltimore, MD (one of my favorite cities) this series revolves
around a foster family – a thief, a killer, a liar, and a stranger – who are
dragged into the fight against a violent threat in their city. This battle will
test their family, their futures, and their hard-won personal honor. And in
midst of the chaos, they’ll meet the people who will become the reason they
fight – for their lives and for the love that makes it all worthwhile.
I can’t even tell you
how excited I am to bring this series to you but it gets even better! I’ve
partnered with TOGETHER WE RISE, a group dedicated to helping foster kids all
over the country. They provide duffle bags to kids in the system (no more
carrying around their belongings in garbage bags), bikes for kids who’ve aged
out of the system to help them get to jobs and school, and scholarships to help
them continue their education. I’m proud to pledge a portion of the net
royalties of each book in this series to this amazing group and their support
of kids in foster care. You can check them out www.togetherwerise.org.
This series will hit
your e-readers in February, May, July, and October 2018 . . . you can add the first
book to your Goodreads TBR shelf.

A Thief. A Killer. A Liar. A Stranger.
When it comes to love. . . never say never.
Baltimore, Maryland
Billionaire philanthropist and businessman, George Tarras,
was not a man who tolerated excuses of any kind. Not from himself. Not from his
employees and not his son. When sixteen-year-old Alek indulged in a little
youthful hacking of government websites and theft, George decided to let him
fully experience the consequences of his actions: two weeks in a juvenile
facility and one year of community service.
Always one to lead by example, George volunteered during
this time at the local community center and got to know the three youths who
befriended his son: a thief, a grifter, and a killer. In spite of their pasts
he saw something special in all of them: hope and a future full of promise.
By the end of that fateful year, George had put into motion
the opportunity to change their lives if they dared to take it. A gift—freely
given—but carrying responsibility and consequences.
But, what he really gave them was the one thing they all
needed the most…a family.
Brothers and a sister—they would do anything to protect each
other.
But, danger is coming. Secrets and lies will test their
bonds, challenge their courage, and test their definition of family and love.
To win, they will have to resurrect their pasts and revisit
demons buried long ago.
To survive, they will have to rely on bonds formed not by
blood but by loyalty.
To love, they will have to risk everything.
NEVER LOVE A THIEF
Book One
Stealing is
easy. Love is dangerous.
Rescued from the streets at sixteen, former thief, Carmen
“Mina” Salazar, is a law-abiding citizen who no longer indulges in her favorite
pastime: freeing the wealthy from the burden of their belongings. Now Mina spends
her days and nights running St. Nick’s, her bar in the Fell’s Point section of
Baltimore. Abandoned by her father for reasons she doesn’t understand, trust
doesn’t come easily for Mina. But a sexy, dangerous cop in her bar with a reckless
proposition tempts her to take a chance.
The son of a former Baltimore police officer, FBI Special
Agent Declan McGregor has spent his entire life trying to outrun the scandal of
being the son of a drunk, dirty cop. But years of undercover work and living in
the bowels of the dirtiest of organized crime networks has left him with a dead
partner and relief he can only find at the bottom of a bottle. The man in the mirror looks a lot like his
old man and a failed marriage and crumbling career testify to just how close to
the bottom he really is.
Declan wants retribution for the death of his partner and
Mina is the key. When her long-lost father turns up in the bed of the head of
the mob responsible for the murder, Declan offers Mina the one thing she can’t
pass up: the chance to find out why her father left her. All she has to do is
what she does best . . . break, enter and steal her way into the inner circle
of the syndicate. Danger fuels their intense attraction and soon the lines
between revenge and lust are blurred by emotion and tested by betrayal. When lives
are in the balance, there is only one question . . . is it ever safe to love a
thief?*** Book info provided by Author

A Very Married Christmas by Samantha Chase is the third installment in the Silver Bell Falls series. If you love all things Christmas from the decorations to the friendly cheer, than you don’t want to miss this series.
Melanie Harper is ready to take the next step in her relationship with Josiah Stone and set a wedding date. Will she find a way to make them both happy? It takes a strong man to ease someone into a town that lives and breathes Christmas all year long. What will happen when he suggests a date that sets her into a panic?
Samantha Chase writes books that tackle tough issues in relationships and truly dissects it so fluidly that the reader is invested from the first page. Samantha gets it, and that’s why I love reading her books.
Josiah can’t wait to live the rest of his life with Melanie, will she go along with his plan? I love that our hero is the one so with a wedding vision, and with strong convictions. It’s a nice change and sets the book apart from all the other holiday adventures.
A well crafted town is not complete without secrets, holiday tragedies, and last minute changes. It’s the journey we are on and how we are navigated throughout the book that makes this so memorable and heart-warming. This holiday romance made me laugh, cry and get in the mood for the winter season of holiday merriment. It doesn’t matter what holiday you celebrate, after reading this story, you’ll be ready to bake, decorate, and wrap those presents. Fill up your mug with warm cider, spike the eggnog, brew the coffee, and curl up with a tasty novella.
I received an advanced copy from the author for a fair and honest review.

Silver Bell Falls by Samantha Chase is about hope, forgiveness and family. I’ve read a few holiday stories from Samantha and have enjoyed each and everyone. While it might be the middle of the summer and most of us are spending our days relaxing at the beach or lounging by the pool Samantha’s stories will cool you off wishing it was the beginning of Christmas season ;).
Melanie Harper didn’t always dislike Christmas and now all the things that are associated with the festive time of the year are not helping her to finish her latest work assignment. Under deadline Melanie, a romance author, must turn in her next book and she has writers block in the worst way.
A request from her father sends Melanie to Silver Bell Falls to her Grandmother’s house. One little wish will change her life forever, and hopefully help her believe and find a little holiday magic.
As soon as I read the first paragraph I was hooked. The town is amazing, the cast of characters loveable, and the meet cute between Melanie and Josiah, unforgettable. There is nothing better than a town filled with happy residents who are kind, and especially one that includes a sexy Sheriff. Who couldn’t use a little of that right now?
The holidays are about giving, spending time with loved ones, and lots of merriment. Can Melanie finally celebrate Christmas without hate and resentment? We are rooting for Josiah to be the one to figure out why she dislikes it so much, and open her eyes to the beauty and magic of Silver Bell Falls. If Melanie can trust him there is so much out there to keep her in Silver Bell Falls.
Do you love stories that have lots of flirty and tense scenes between the hero and heroine, a story with a plot that stands on its own, and set during Christmas? Then add this book to your e-reader now. From the first page to the last, this book will leave you satisfied. If you’ve never read a book by Samantha, then dive right in with this one and then check out her backlist. There are so many to choose from that you will thank me :). Including the second installment in this holiday series which released today! My review will post this afternoon.
I received this book from the author for a fair and honest review. I hope that we will see more from the other characters in Silver Bell Falls. With a large family there are plenty of siblings Samantha, I hope we meet one soon!

Author Info:
New York Times and USA Today Bestseller/contemporary romance writer Samantha Chase released her debut novel, Jordan’s Return, in November 2011. Although she waited until she was in her 40’s to publish for the first time, writing has been a lifelong passion. Her motivation to take that step was her students: teaching creative writing to elementary age students all the way up through high school and encouraging those students to follow their writing dreams gave Samantha the confidence to take that step as well.
When she’s not working on a new story, she spends her time reading contemporary romances, playing way too many games of Scrabble or Solitaire on Facebook and spending time with her husband of 25 years and their two sons in North Carolina.
