Spicy: Best enjoyed with your favorite iced-beverage, a cozy chair, and maybe a fan.
I received an ARC from Arden Prose for a fair and honest review. It’s time to discover a rugby player who is on a quest for redemption.
As I swiped the last page on my e-reader, I couldn’t tell where one author began and the other ended. There was no obvious shift in writing style or voice, it was seamless and kept me reading till the last page. Are you ready? One-click now!

I enjoy watching surfers at my local beach, and weaving stories of romance in the modern world, with all its trials and tribulations.
It’s been the best fun working with Stu on this story. And yes, he did think about joining the Marines once.

Feb 2, 2018 | Authors Dish, Blog, February 2018, Kimberly Kincaid, Lori Ann Bailey, MK Meredith
Welcome to Authors Dish where your favorite authors share what they are reading. In addition, if you enjoy reading their books they have suggestions for similar book adventures by other authors. It doesn’t get better than that!
Today in the cafe are MK Meredith, Kimberly Kincaid, and Lori Ann Bailey.
Rae: Who are you reading?
MK Meredith: I just finished Best Man Under the Mistletoe by Jules Bennett (so cute!) and I’m currently reading Hemingway’s Girl by Erika Robuck. Of course, you can’t go wrong with Catherine Bybee, Gina Maxwell, or Harper Kincaid! And if you love historicals like I do, check out Victoria Alexander, Lori Ann Bailey, and Margaret Mallory. So many happy ever afters to fuel your love tank!
Kimberly Kincaid: A DISTANT HEART, by Sonali Dev and THE SCHEMER by Avery Flynn
Lori Ann Bailey: I currently have a massive “to be read” pile, which although daunting, makes me very happy. 🙂 Part of the reason is I recently went to a used book store with a group of other romance readers. I found a selection from authors I already love, Lynsay Sands, Lisa Kleypas and Johanna Lindsay, and some I’ve never tried, Janet Capman, Karen Ranney, and Kinley MacGregor, who I was excited to learn is also Sherrilyn Kenyon. In all, thirteen books for under $10.
I also have print copies of Too Scot to Handle from Grace Burrowes and Duke of Pleasure from Elizabeth Hoyt that I’m dying to dive into. On my kindle, I have books from Eliza Knight, Madeline Martin, and Dawn Luedecke that are begging for my attention.
I’ve also been told I have to read “Flowers from the Storm” By Laura Kinsale.
Maybe your readers can help me, where should I start?
Rae: If readers are a fan of your books, who should they consider reading?
MK Meredith: If you’re a fan of MK Meredith (which is an amazing and unbelievable thing…btw) then you love an emotional ride on heated sheets. For stories with a similar feel, you’ll find the perfect happy ever after in books by one of my top favorites…Susan Elizabeth Phillips, the talented Melissa West, and one of my biggest loves…Marina Adair.
Kimberly Kincaid: If you’re a fan of Kimberly Kincaid, consider Erin Nicholas, Kate Meader, and Laura Kaye.
Lori Ann Bailey: If you’re a fan of Lori Ann Bailey consider reading these authors… Paula Quinn, Hannah Howell, Monica McCarty, and Karen Marie Moning.
Rae: Thank you so much authors! Let me know dear readers if you try any of these books. I’ll see you next week – same time for new authors and more fun!

MK Meredith: #1 Bestselling author MK Meredith promises an emotional ride on heated sheets. She’s had a lifelong love affair with peanut butter — the only two things coming close in the battle for her affections are gorgeous heels and maybe Gerard Butler…or was it David Gandy? Who is she kidding? Her true loves are her husband and two children who have survived her SEA’s (spontaneous explosions of affection) and live to tell the tale. Her newest series, CAPE VAN BUREN, is set off the atmospheric coast of Maine and made a splash with book one, LOVE ON THE CAPE. This sexy and emotional love story between Ryker Van Buren and Larkin Sinclair will make you laugh, will make you cry, and will leave you feeling happy ever after! Book two, HONOR ON THE CAPE, keeps the light burning with Blayne McCaffrey’s story in March 2018. MK loves to connect and you can find all of her social media platform links atwww.mkmeredith.com. One more thing…MK is a lover of happy endings both in her stories and life, so as a two-time breast cancer survivor, she encourages each of you to know your body and go to the doctor when something is different. Your happy ending starts with YOU! #KnowandGo

Kimberly Kincaid: Kimberly Kincaid writes contemporary romance that splits the difference between sexy and sweet and hot and edgy romantic suspense. When she’s not sitting cross-legged in an ancient desk chair known as “The Pleather Bomber”, she can be found practicing obscene amounts of yoga, whipping up anything from enchiladas to éclairs in her kitchen, or curled up with her nose in a book. Kimberly is a USA Today best-selling author and a 2016 and 2015 RWA RITA® finalist and 2014 Bookseller’s Best nominee who lives (and writes!) by the mantra that food is love. Kimberly resides in Virginia with her wildly patient husband and their three daughters. Website link: https://kimberlykincaid.com
Lori Ann Bailey: Winner of the National Readers’ Choice Award and Holt Medallion for Best First Book and Best Historical, Lori Ann Bailey writes hunky highland heroes and strong-willed independent lasses finding their perfect matches in the Highlands of 17th century Scotland. Writing about the people and places playing in her head helps her live out her dreams and delve into her love of history and romance. When not writing, Lori enjoys time with her real life hero and four kids or spending time walking or drinking wine with her friends. Website link: http://loriannbailey.com/
Feb 1, 2018 | Barbara Devlin, Blog, February 2018
Tall, Dark & de Wolfe by Barbara Devlin is a story of unexpected love, a battle of the heart, and the realization that family isn’t always defined by birth. If you love Historical Romance this is one novella that’s not to be missed.
Lady Rosenwyn Burville discovers her future now rests in the hands of Titus de Wolfe after a battle destroys one family and their future forever changed. Titus and Rosenwyn will discover that love is precious, and something to be treasured, not feared. There are still a few good, decent men ready to treat their wives as equal. Will Rosenwyn’s fears be for nothing? Titus is a hero to savor, I bid you fair warning dear readers. Be prepared to swoon ;).
Once again Barbara Devlin has written a romance that has tenderness despite duty, friendship that is earned, and a devotion that will melt your heart. It’s a bite-sized treat that reunites us with the de Wolfe family. The result is epic and reminds us why we love Kathryn Le Veque’s world of The Wolfe. While this story is not set in a world that Barbara Devlin created, it might as well should be as the details were seamless. Well done!
Spiced Latte Mug Rating: Sinfully Sweet – Hotter with behind closed door spice.
I purchased this novella and hope that you will one-click your copy today. It’s time to discover a sexy knight that’s worthy of space on your e-reader shelf. 😉
Author Info:
USA Today bestselling, Amazon All-Star author Barbara Devlin was born a storyteller, but it was a weeklong vacation to Bethany Beach, Delaware that forever changed her life. The little house her parents rented had a collection of books by Kathleen Woodiwiss, which exposed Barbara to the world of romance, and Shanna remains a personal favorite.
Barbara writes heartfelt historical romances that feature not so perfect heroes who may know how to seduce a woman but know nothing of marriage. And she prefers feisty but smart heroines who sometimes save the hero before they find their happily ever after.
Barbara is a disabled-in-the-line-of-duty retired police officer, and she earned an MA in English and continued a course of study for a Doctorate in Literature and Rhetoric. She happily considered herself an exceedingly eccentric English professor, until success in Indie publishing lured her into writing, full-time, featuring her fictional knighthood, the Brethren of the Coast.

Jan 31, 2018 | Avery Flynn, Blog, Coffee With, January 2018
Rae: Thank you for hanging out with me. First, if we were meeting at a coffee shop I’d be drinking an spiced Latte with Coconut Milk with chocolate drizzle, what would you order?
Avery: I’m a black coffee girl. Give me the caffeine and nothing else!
Rae: You are currently serving on the Romance Writers of America Board of Directors in the position Director-at-Large. Has that changed how you view the industry?
Avery: Oh wow, being an RWA director is definitely eye opening. I am amazed by the dedication of the folks on the board.
Rae: What’s the best advice you can give to a newbie writer attending a chapter meeting or the Romance Writers of America annual conference in Denver?
Avery: As for advice, I say go for it, get to that meeting! You will never regret getting to hang out with and learn from some of the best in our profession.
Rae: Let’s talk books – first, congratulations on your upcoming release of The Schemer in your Harbor City Romance series. What was the inspiration for this series and will there be more mischief and shenanigans in the foreseeable future?
Avery: Mischief and shenanigans??? ALWAYS! 🙂 This series really was a brain child of Liz Pelletier and myself. We shot a ton of book ideas back and forth before hitting on the perfect idea with The Negotiator. And, of course, every good hero like Sawyer Carlyle in The Negotiator needs a hot brother with a secret like Hudson Carlyle in The Charmer. Plus, he needs a best friend turned enemy like Tyler Jacobson in The Schemer. I really love the Harbor City Romance series. It’s a series that makes you smile, tear up a bit and will really steam up your eReader.
Rae: Your backlist is extensive with multiple series and standalone reads. What can we expect in 2018? Will there be more books from current series, or new ones in the works? That being said, how do you keep all of your worlds and characters from crossing over?
Avery: I love world crossovers! These characters all live together in my head so why not on the page too? That’s exactly what happens in 2018 with my Hartigans series. If you’ve read The Charmer, you know the Hartigans are Felicia’s crazy Irish family from across the harbor in Waterbury. They’re just so much fun to write. You’ll get three Hartigans books in 2018 PLUS something totally new from me in the form of a super sexy hero who has to *am tackled by the good people at Entangled Publishing* … Sorry about that, but they won’t let me tell you more. What a bunch of meanies. 🙂
Rae: As a reader who appreciates a book where the cover just screams “read me” despite not reading the blurb, are you involved in any of the design process? FYI – your covers are super sexy and scream “one-click” so please let your team know.
Avery: Right? The folks at Entangled and the designers who work on my indie covers are AMAZING!!! I’m lucky and have input on my covers no matter who is punishing.
Rae: Writing all the words is a challenge, do you have a writing ritual or secret location to get the work done?
Avery: Sheer deadline panic? Stop laughing, that’s pretty much my go to.
Rae: How do you tackle plotting your series? Is it on a massive board, sheets of paper or just write as you go with a simple outline? A lot of authors use Pinterest and make awesome boards to tease readers, are you one of them?
Avery: I am a total plotter but mine is all words, no Pinterest for me.
Rae: When you are not busy writing, you keep readers updated on social media, what are your favorite types of posts, pics, or tweets?
Avery: I am a social media freak – probably a little too much unless I’m under deadline. Twitter is for the snark and fashion commentary. Instagram is pics of my pooches. Facebook is really my favorite place to chat with my fellow romance readers!
Rae: What can we expect to see on the bookshelves in the upcoming months?
Avery: You’ll get the first of the Hartigans books in April so be on the look out!
Rae: Where can readers find you in 2018?
Avery: I’ll be at Rebels Hit the Road in Annapolis, Barbara Vey, RT, RWA and more!
Rae: Thank you for hanging out in the cafe today.
Avery: Thank you so much for having me!

Eliza Knight: Eliza Knight is an award-winning and USA Today bestselling author of over fifty sizzling historical, time-travel and contemporary romance novels. Under the name E. Knight, she pens rip-your- heart-out historical fiction. While not reading, writing or researching for her latest book, she chases after her three children. In her spare time (if there is such a thing…) she likes daydreaming, wine-tasting, traveling, hiking, staring at the stars, watching movies, shopping and visiting with family and friends. She lives atop a small mountain with her own knight in shining armor, three princesses and two very naughty puppies.
